Whangarei

Whangarei

The next morning we woke up and headed to Whangarei which wasn’t too far away, just over 100km. We followed the coastal road through Langs beach and Waipu then got back on to Highway 1 which took us by Uretiti Beach and Ruakaka and then finally Whangarei. As I was driving Mikko said he would like to plant a tree, our tree. Which sounds like a perfect idea, we are undecided on what type of tree or where to put it yet, but I’m sure we will have decided by the time we have visited the whole island.
We got to the City centre and had a walk around, before going to the Zion Wildlife  gardens. We got into the gift shop and then we found out entry was $60 each Ouch! Which was just for an hour and half guided tour so unfortunately we had to give it a miss this time, if Craig Busch aka ‘ The Lion Man’ was still there we would have paid up without a doubt lol ‘he’s a LEGEND he visited White Post Farm Nov 09, I didn’t get to meet him, but my brother and some friends did, he seems like a really nice guy so I do hope he can go back to Zion again as I would love to visit if he is there. We did sign the guest book whilst we were there, people worldwide had visited and some even written comments asking for the ‘Lion Man’ to return, there is also a petition on Facebook to get him back, so please join! :-)
