The Surf Highway to New Plymouth, Taranaki

The Surf Highway to New Plymouth, Taranaki

We followed The Surf Highway 45 which took us from Hawera to New Plymouth. The last place near the coast before we head inland. So we stayed here for the weekend, in hope of seeing the Taranaki Mountain, but of course the weather forecast was mist and cloud and light showers, so unfortunately it wasn’t looking too good… Well we made the most of it, had a little party in the van as it rained all evening,  I went shopping, got some design ideas for our van whilst Mikko went surfing. The sun came out for a little while, so we went to Brooklands Park and Zoo! To see the fountain, waterfall and lakes, then to see the lovely animals, and guess what! They had my favourite animals, KuneKune Pig’s there were 3 of them they were so cute!  There was even a lovely but shy donkey, she gradually got the courage to come over to us, to get her some well-deserved attention.
